Paper Bag Styles

Open mouth, Pasted Bottom Sack
Advantages: Doesn't require a special packing machine to be filled. Allows the insertion of an interior plastic liner. Easy open features available. High quality print.
Disadvantages: Quality of palletizing is only fair because the sack is not symmetrical. Requires some sort of closure once the sack is filled.
Main uses: Powdered milk, Starch, Wheat Flour, Minerals, Plastic Resins. Also as a container of smaller units (noodles, flour, rice)

Open-Mouth, Gussetted, Sewn Sack
Advantages: Doesn't require a special packing machine to be filled. Allows the insertion of a plastic liner. Palletizing is very stable because the filled sack resembles a block.
Disadvantages: Requires some sort of closure once the sack is filled. The use of a plastic liner reduces the quality of palletizing.
Main uses: Wheat Flour, Seeds, Feeds, Industrial Adhesive.

Valved, Pasted Bottom Sack
Advantages: Designed for high-speed automatic or semi-automatic packing machines. Filling is done through the spouts and the valves close due to the internal pressure of the product. These bags therefore do not require closing after filling. Palletizing of this item is very stable because the filled sack resembles a block.
Disadvantages: Requires a special packing machine to be filled.
Main uses: Cement, Mortars, Chemical Products, Sulfur, Plaster, Foods.

Sewn Valved Sack
Advantages: The valve closes due to the internal pressure of the product, and therefore, doesn't require closing after filling. The sack can be opened easily at the sewn end. Can be made for use in high-speed automated applications. Tuck-in-sleeve, tube, double poly lock, thermo seal valves available.
Disadvantages: Requires a special packing machine to be filled. Quality of palletizing is only fair because the sack is not symmetrical.
Main uses: Wheat Flour, Bentonite.

Pinch-Bottom, Open Mouth Sack
Advantages: Easy open features available. Does not require a special machine to be filled. Variety of closure styles: hot glue, tape, or heat sealable.
Disadvantages: Forms unstable pallets. Requires sealing after sack is filled.
Main uses: Chemicals, Feeds, Seeds, Foods such as noodles and rice.

Open Mouth Sewn Bottom Sack
Advantages: It doesn't require a special packing machine to be filled. It allows the insertion of an interior plastic liner. Easy open features available.
Disadvantages: Forms unstable pallets because the filled sack resembles a "pillow". Requires some sort of closure once the sack is filled.
Main uses: Corn Seeds, Fertilizers, Wheat Flour, Oats.
